This command allows you to format (erase) the contents of a flash of the connected device.

Syntax

FFORMAT <flash>

<flash>

Name of the flash to be formatted

WARNING: once formatted, the flash irretrievably loses all its contents: therefore, perform the operation only and only if you are well sure of the operation you intend to do.

To know which and what names the available flashes have, use the FMEM command.

Annotation:

In Standard and Standard* type flash, flashes correspond to folders, so they are as follows: /F@ (system flash), /FA (first user flash), /FB (second user flash), etc.

In Compact, SD, microSD, large SD (>= 4Gib) and large microSD (>= 4Gib) type flashes, flashes are completely independent of folders. Such flashes are identified by names such as /diskXY, where X is the flash device identifier and Y is the partition number: for example, /diska1 is partition 1 of the primary flash device (default).

Formatting /diska1 may automatically generate the /diska1/f@ folder: this folder is where the boot firmware for Robox SpA devices is looked for.

Examples of use

To format the first standard user flash.

FFORMAT /fa

To format the main compact flash.

FFORMAT /diska1
