Device commands (also called directives) are all those operations that are specific to the connected device, thus not expected (nor predictable) by either the command shell or the BCC/31 communication protocol, and are normally related to a specific device firmware.

Device commands are always manually activated using the #(direct) command: alternatively, if properly configured, all commands not recognized by the shell are assumed to be device commands, then sent directly to the connected device.

Such commands are always recognizable in the output area of the shell, since any output is preceded by the title "Device command ...".

To obtain information on device commands, you can use the HELP command: where available, a window of with the relevant documentation available will be opened. The syntax of the command is as follows:
