This version incorporates several new features (as well as several bug fixes and improvements) over Version 3.00-R94.

1.New distribution model

2.General

3.RS232 serial device (BCC library)

4.CANopen management tools (COCED, COTED extensions)

5.Command shell (SHELL extension)

New distribution model

Of particular importance is the fact that as of this Version the distribution model of RDE3 changes: thus the current RDE3 levels (BASIC and DEVELOPER) cease to exist and are replaced by a single software with the addition of a license file.

This file, normally provided directly by Robox SPA according to your software purchase or supply contract which contains, in addition to usual legal information (license type, user, company, serial no., etc.), the various permissions for RDE3 itself, for the various extensions available and for all external tools provided (such as Robox compilers, etc.).

The license file for RDE3 is called user.lic and must be copied manually into the RDE3 installation folder itself, in the same place where the rde3.dat, news.dat, etc. files normally reside.

NOTE: RDE3, in the absence of a valid (expired, corrupt, or even illegally modified) license file, is not allowed to run; repeated attempts to use an invalid license file could compromise subsequent runs even in the presence of a valid license file.

NOTE: The internal-use license (robox.lic file) takes precedence over the user.lic file, but it can only be used within the internal Robox SPA network. In case of use in different scope, the robox.lic file is considered as invalid license file (see note 1).

General

Fixed bug on 'circular' workspace connections, which in particular cases (missing dependent connection) could cause the environment to crash.

RS232 serial device (BCC library)

Fixed bug on continuous (useless) error signaling in case of missing signals (DSR or CTS): now the signaling occurs only on state change, thus signaling the error only once.

CANopen management tools.

As of this Version, two CANopen network management editors are available for Robox SpA devices:

- A CANopen template editor, which allows you to define dynamic templates (or templates) of CANopen devices, which can be used both in the configuration editor and when generating operational configurations.

- A CANopen configuration editor, which allows you to quickly and easily define, with the help of both predefined templates and EDS device description files, your own configuration of one or more CANopen networks. The editor also provides the ability to generate COCx.CFG files specific to the Robox R programming language and Robox SpA numerical controls.

For more information, refer to the respective documentation.

Shell commands (SHELL extension)

Added ability to set the format and numerical precision of displayed numerical values, particularly in relation to the FUNZ and DV commands: these settings are selectable both from the general shell settings window and from the command line with the NFORMAT and NPREC commands, respectively.
